Responsibilities:
● Manage your own pipeline of prospects from lead generation to paying customers
● Become an expert in our value proposition, products, and tools
● Conduct web product demonstrations encompassing both technical and non-technical
aspects of the product offer
● Engage directly with decision-makers at colleges and universities
● Help develop an outbound sales process that enables us to scale
● Research and reach out to target accounts through a variety of channels–email, phone,
social media, direct mail, in-person meetings, etc
● Maintain accurate and complete customer records and activity and pipeline reports
within our CRM tool
● Convert prospects and close deals by phone and in person while maintaining
established sales quotas;
● Achieve and report on key KPIs agreed with the CEO.
● Willingness to travel domestically at least 10-20%
Ideal candidate will have:
● Training in “Challenger,” “Solution,” or customer-centric selling
● Proven ability to sell complex software solutions to technical or data-savvy audiences
● Demonstrated experience creating opportunities within large strategic accounts and
lengthy sales cycles
● Experience in a startup or small companies
● Conversant with higher education pain points
● Passion for selling and enthusiastic self-starter with a “can do” attitude.
● Receptive to feedback, coaching, and constructive criticism; ability to learn from
mistakes
● Resilience and comfort with ambiguity. Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment
Qualifications:
● 2-5 years of successful experience in selling enterprise SaaS B2B ($50K+ ACV)
● Ability to negotiate and excellent persuasion skills
● Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (oral and written) effectively
● Engaging and memorable presentation style; demonstrated ability to build rapport and
credibility quickly with an executive-level audience
● Delivering client presentations and facilitating discussions
● Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
