Emily Kaplan

Emily Kaplan is a Senior Recruitment Consultant at Captivate Talent, where she helps AI and SaaS companies build go-to-market teams. Over her career, Emily has hired more than 500 GTM professionals across the US and London, with a focus on Account Executives, sales leaders, and technical sales roles like Engagement Managers and Forward Deployed Engineers.

Before joining Captivate Talent, Emily was the second GTM recruiter at Reflection AI, where she hired 30+ people across Business Development and G&A ahead of the company’s product launch, including complex international roles in EMEA and APAC. Prior to that, she spent three years as the founding recruiter at WRITER, hiring more than 150 people across sales, sales leadership, pre- and post-sales, marketing, and technical roles, and building the company’s founding EMEA sales team. For a year and a half, she was WRITER’s sole GTM recruiter. Emily started her recruiting career with eight years at GTM-focused agencies, where she was the top recruiter at her firm and ranked in the top three at Candidate Labs. Beyond sourcing and closing talent, she loves helping companies design interview processes that actually identify the right people for their team.

Emily’s career started with a lucky seat assignment. On a flight, she ended up next to the CEO of a fleet graphics company, and by the time they landed, she’d talked her way into her first job as a sales rep. A year later, she found her way into recruiting and never looked back. Outside of work, Emily is a self-taught artist who’s still learning and pushing herself to share her work through content creation, with an Etsy shop on the way. She studied Psychology with a concentration in Buddhist studies and grew up speaking French. Born and raised in Chicago, she’s lived in seven states before settling in Jersey City with her fiancé and their two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Lucy and Charlotte.
